My little champ.

Kellen is walking so well-- he hasn't crawled in days! Anytime I tell him to 'Come here.' he stands up, all by himself, and walks to me with his arms, and that precious smile, wide open. Ever so often, specially when he is tired, he will fall and hit his head pretty hard. So far he's busted his mouth open three times, but the blood seems to alarm me more than it does him. I've never found exactly where it was that he was bleeding from, but it was obviously nothing too serious. Knock on wood!

He's just a little champ. I have to give him kudos for being such a strong, brave, and proud little boy.

Knitting Mama!

I got a link from a fellow mama to a website that teaches (with videos included for slow people like myself) people how to knit. I am so excited to get started. I want to be able to knit Kellen a jacket for this winter. We'll see if that's a reasonable goal once I actually get started. We're going to Michael's today to get some yarn and needles since we lost everything of my other stash in the house fire this past March. Woot! I will post pictures once I get started (and I'll also need a computer to upload the pics onto... ) No telling when I'll have new pics online. :( Maybe I'll be able to put them on my dad's computer. Or maybe we can buy an external hardrive on the 15th!

Wow. My sweet baby boy is one.

I can't believe it. Kellen turned one two days ago. What a milestone. He's growing so much!! He is going up the stairs perfectly, and he's able to come down a few without getting too frustrated. He loves knocking things down, pulling things off of tables, and hitting toys together. Crawling is fading into a distant memory as he stands up by himself and now walks to get where he wants to go. When people threw the "They grow so quickly." statement at me, I never realized how true it was.

We have been having loads of fun this year. We've met a few new friends, and reconnected with some distant ones. Kevin and I have grown from husband and wife, to mother and father. Our relationship has molded into such an amazing bond. Kellen has changed from a helpless newborn, into a humorous and confident little boy. He has taught me so much about myself, and has completely changed my life for the better. I am eagerly looking forward to the next 365 days...

What an extremely short year this year has been.
